Recital Day Essentials

Arrival Time

Please have dancers arrive about 20 minutes before their show time, already wearing skin-tone dance tights (not nylons) and a leotard.

Parents of dancers ages 3–6 should stay with their dancer until at least 15 minutes before the show begins.

Drop-Off & Backstage

Drop your child off in their color-coded backstage dressing area. Combo classes are assigned a class space in the dressing room.

For privacy, only female guardians and authorized staff are permitted in the dressing area.

What to Bring

Dancers need all required shoes, tights, costumes, accessories, and a labeled water bottle.

Please label everything with your dancer’s name.

Tickets

All audience members need a ticket to attend recital this year. In recent years, venue costs have increased significantly, and while recital is not intended to be a profit-generating event, we are no longer able to absorb the full cost of producing the show while also providing complimentary tickets.

  • $15 each
  • Available at both studio locations beginning May 1
  • Also available for purchase at the door
  • Children 4 and under are free
  • Dancers do not need a ticket
  • All seating is general admission

Costumes & Class Needs

  • All color class dancers (ballet/tap/jazz) are responsible for bringing their own tights and shoes. Studio costumes will be at the show.
  • If your class purchased a costume, double-check that you have every piece before leaving for recital.
  • Some combo dancers prefer to wear a skin-tone leotard under studio costumes.
  • Recommended stores: Target, Boulder Body Wear, Amazon, and Discount Dance.

What to Expect

  • Our shows run about 2 hours.
  • Please stay through the full show if possible. We celebrate all dancers at the end and dismiss dancers from the stage by class.
  • We ask that no one goes backstage during the show unless you are having photos taken.
  • Our backstage team keeps things calm and organized so you can sit back and enjoy the performance.

Video & Photos

This year, our performances will be filmed and distributed through DanceBUG. All families will receive a complimentary digital copy of the show for streaming or download once the performances are ready.

To support the dancers and give every family the best possible viewing experience, we ask that guests refrain from taking photos or videos during the performance. Flash and screen light can be distracting and unsafe on stage.

Recital FAQs

How do I know which show my dancer is in?
Use the class dropdown near the top of this page. You can also check the recital packet your family received. Please note that show assignments are not listed in performance order.
What should my dancer wear when they arrive?

What if my dancer is in a color class?
Color class dancers bring their own tights and shoes. Their recital costumes will be waiting for them at the show.

Plan to arrive about 20 minutes before your dancer’s show time. Families with younger dancers should stay with them until at least 15 minutes before the show begins.
Can parents go backstage?
We ask that families stay out of backstage areas during the performance so our volunteers can keep things calm and running smoothly. If your dancer is having photos taken, follow the directions given by recital staff.
Can men go into the dressing area?
For privacy, only female guardians and authorized staff are permitted in the dressing area.
Can I leave during the show?
We strongly encourage families to remain seated for the full show and avoid entering or exiting during performances. This helps create a respectful environment for every dancer on stage.
Can I take photos or videos during recital?
We ask guests not to take photos or videos during the performance. Families will receive a complimentary professional recital video through DanceBUG, and reducing screens and flash helps keep dancers safe and focused.
When will we receive the recital video?
Families will receive access once the performances are processed and uploaded by DanceBUG. TNT will share directions and access information as soon as it is available.
Are tickets reserved seats?
No. Tickets are general admission. Please plan to arrive with enough time to get seated before the show begins.

Can I volunteer backstage?
Yes, and TNT would love your help. Female adult volunteers are needed to help dancers change costumes and stay organized backstage. If you or someone you know can help, please email Miss Talon.

A Note from Miss Talon

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting our studio and small business. As someone who grew up dancing at TNT, this legacy and community mean everything to me. The countless car rides, costume checks, and living room performances do not go unnoticed. Thank you for all you do to support your dancer through each and every moment with us.
